Closes Premises For Two Weeks, Oriental Food Shares Decline!

 Shares of Oriental Food Industries Holdings Bhd declined during the morning trading session after the company announced the temporary closure of its premises in Melaka for two weeks on the instructions of the Ministry of Health (MOH).


Shares of Oriental Food, which was suspended from 9 to 10 this morning, opened 0.5 sen or 0.58% lower at 85.5 sen as trading resumed.


Around 11am this morning, the counter remained at 85.5 sen with 17,500 shares traded.



In a notification to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the company was instructed to close its premises including the office, maintenance, logistics and security divisions in the Air Keroh Industrial Area from July 7 to 21.


“We must comply with the work instructions issued by the MOH.


"The safety and well-being of employees and the local community is our priority to curb the situation and hit the Covid-19 curve," the statement said.


The statement added that the company will continue to strictly adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) of Covid-19 prevention, including performing strict periodic cleaning measures.
