The latest development in the RM2.5 billion theft case on the Poly Network network came to a peaceful end.
Through a tweet at midnight last night, Poly Network assured that more than 50% of the assets (around $ 269) stolen from Polygon and Binance Smart Chain had been returned by the hacker now known as ‘Mr.White Hat’.

Return of assets from Mr. White Hat was done in stages, starting Aug. 11 until Aug. 12, a total of $ 342 million was returned.
This means that all assets have been returned to a multi-signature wallet controlled by the Poly Network team and Mr. White Hat today except Tether (USDT) which is still frozen.
However, the repayment process is still pending and Poly Network will continue to communicate with the hacker until they receive the final key and redeem the asset.

For information, Poly Network has offered a reward of $ 500,000, including no lawsuits once all assets have been successfully returned. However, Mr. White Hat did not respond to the offer.
On the contrary, Mr. White Hat claims it has no intention of misappropriating all the funds except to ‘save the world’.
The hacker is also said to want to pay compensation to the victims involved either using a $ 500,000 reward or donations received.
It continues… The Poly Network hacker now says that they will compensate "unexpected victims" of the hack, using the donations they've received over the past couple of days (currently ~ $ 4k) #polynetworkhack #polyhack pic.twitter.com/ wmYywR6MEz
