Argentine soccer player Lionel Messi is set to launch a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFT) known as The Messiverse, a set of digital photos verified by the figure himself.
The announcement was made via his official Instagram account last night.

The effort also involves a collaboration with Ethernity Chain and the launch of The Messiverse is expected to take place on Aug. 20, 9pm UTC.
The Messiverse is said to have four works of art: ‘Man From the Future’, ‘Worth the Weight’, ‘The King Piece’, and another piece of art will be unveiled during its launch.
All four were produced by Australian artist, Bosslogic, an individual who once worked for Marvel and Disney.
Following Messi’s announcement, the network’s native token ERN saw a jump of over 50%, to a daily high value, $ 12.59. However, at the time of writing, the asset is trading at $ 11.12 with a 37% jump in 24 hours.
Previously, ERN posted an all -time high (ATH), $ 74 in March and once surpassed Bitcoin (BTC) as the weekly highest trending coin in the United States (US).
This is not the first time Messi has appeared in NFT form. Last month, Ethernity Chain also launched its NFT collection in celebration of Argentina’s victory over Brazil in the Copa America final.
