The deployment of Bitcoin ATM machines is an effort by the country’s government to encourage the use of the cryptocurrency founded by Satoshi Nakamoto since the asset became a legal tender.

However, the facility has faced vandalism by those who are anti -BTC with "Democracy Not For Sale", "Not For Bitcoin", "Not For Money Laundering", and "Resistance and Rebellion Against the Bukele Regime".

More than that, the protest group also set fire to several Bitcoin ATM machines, including several shops in Plaza Gerardo Barrios.

So far, the exact number of ATM machines that have been damaged has not been identified.

In fact before this, the people of El Salvador had staged a mass protest on July 23, voicing the rejection of Bitcoin as the country’s legal currency, including urging the government to drop the Bitcoin Law.

At the time of writing, BTC is trading at $ 47,874, down nearly 1% in 24 hours.
