Former US Treasurer Wins XRP?

Perhaps U.S. politicians don’t share the same opinion about cryptocurrencies, for example the country’s most recent former treasurer Rosie Rios sided with Ripple by praising the use of XRP.

In his latest tweet today, Rios claimed XRP plays a key role in rolling out cross-border payments, differentiating it from other crypto assets that rely solely on speculation.

XRP’s primary purpose is facilitating cross border payments while other #Cryptos find their value in speculation. China’s latest move brings this point home. #Ripple #ripplenet #Bitcoin

Not only that, this figure also claims that China's sanctions in the past have finally created differences that were not previously emphasized.

On average his followers celebrated Ripple’s ‘victory’ in which Rios inadvertently dropped the XRP claim as a security.

For the record, Rios was appointed to hold positions as part of Ripple’s board members since May.

Ripple is still facing a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) suit crisis starting December 2020.

While many thought Ripple would win the case, recent developments show the situation is still a conundrum following the oversight agency’s escape from calls to disclose crypto deals: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and XRP.

At the time of writing, XRP is trading at $ 0.96, up nearly 7% in 24 hours.
