Porsche's Step To Set Up Factory In Malaysia Opens Professional Job Opportunities

 Porsche AG's plans to set up an assembly plant in Malaysia will create competitive employment opportunities in specialized technology capabilities at the international level.


The planning strategy will also have a positive impact on the economic landscape and will strengthen the National Investment Aspirations (NIA).


Senior Minister and Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said this was following Porsche's reputation as a high -performance automotive manufacturer globally.


Recently, Porsche has announced plans to set up a production plant in Kedah through a partnership with Sime Darby Bhd.


It seems that the German carmaker remains confident in its position in Malaysia as the ideal gateway for the ASEAN market despite the challenging global economic landscape.



The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) also welcomed Porsche to Malaysia and will give their best to facilitate the effort.


Porsche's move to set up a plant in Kedah as the location of its first assembly facility outside Europe spans the company's 70 -year history.


In addition, this effort is seen to create production facilities in Malaysia and it is a decision of Porsche's strategy and demonstrates its commitment in the long -term position in the ASEAN region.


Mohamed Azmin also said the government would ensure that the environment remained conducive to enable foreign industries to do business in Malaysia through fiscal and non -fiscal incentives.


In the meantime, Malaysia is expected to continue to offer highly skilled workers and credible technology partners.
