 Here are some of the important economic data that will be the focus of the market throughout the week.


German Business Climate Data ifo Survey (Monday 4.00pm): Among the measures of the health of the European economy, this survey data will be scrutinized and will assess the level of investor confidence in Germany as the largest economy in Europe.


Australian Inflation Data (Wednesday 8.30am): Australia’s consumer price index readings for the third quarter will be of concern this week for investors to assess the country’s inflation rate which was previously under pressure due to the protracted effects of the pandemic.



Central Bank of Canada Policy Meeting (Wednesday 10.00pm): The Bank of Canada (BOC) is expected to keep interest rates unchanged at 0.25% and investors will continue to examine indicators for the central bank’s monetary policy in the future.


European Central Bank Policy Meeting (Thursday 7.45pm): The latest meeting by the European Central Bank (ECB) is back in investor focus, but market expectations are likely to remain unchanged that the ECB will continue to maintain loose policy in support of European economic recovery.


US Gross Domestic Product Data (Thursday 8.30pm): Preliminary readings of US economic growth for the third quarter will be published. However, the US dollar is likely to be affected by expectations of a much lower depreciation figure than in the previous quarter.


Canadian Gross Domestic Product Data (Friday 8.30pm): The Canadian economy is forecast to post better growth last August after a declining reading was recorded in the previous month.
