A U.S. judge denied Apple Inc.'s efforts for a stay order imposed as a result of an antitrust case against the creator of "Fortnite" Epic Games.
Apple quickly appealed the denial in the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals before the Dec. 9 deadline to avoid significant changes to the App Store.
Earlier, Epic Game was discussed earlier this year over Apple's actions that forced developers to use the payment system in its app, the App Store and pay a commission to the Iphone maker.
In September, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers ruled in Apple's favor but also expressed concern over Apple hiding facts about other payment methods and ordered Apple to lift the ban on in -app links, buttons and messages to users about other methods. payment.
According to Gonzalez Roger again, Apple’s action of not informing consumers about other payment methods has shown antitrust behavior including highly competitive commission rates resulting in unusual operating margins for the Apple Store.
Apple in its counter statement stated it does not believe any business additions are needed to take effect until all appeals in the case are resolved and hopes Ninth Circuit can resolve them.
