‘Exploitation’, Xbox Chief Executive Skeptical With NFT In Video Games

While almost the entire world is excited about the presence of non-fungible tokens (NFT) in video games, Microsoft's Xbox chief executive is on the other hand somewhat skeptical of the progress.

He explained in a recent interview with Axios:

"Too much speculation and experimentation on NFT and the creativity that I see today is just an exploitative action rather than an entertainment interest."

This individual statement to some extent raises concerns in the NFT sector, again as one of the major powers in the online gaming market, Xbox has the right to allow gaming companies and NFT projects to join their ecosystem or not.

This explains that Microsoft and Xbox do not want to accept any project that is exploitative, worried if it is labeled as a scam as considered by skeptics.

Still, that doesn’t mean Spencer completely rejects NFT -related ideas. It’s just that he sees the current situation as a phase where people are identifying and understanding the uniqueness of NFT.

Based on the observation of the video game market, there is no doubt that blockchain-based games and play-to-earn (P2E) concept open up a new era in this sector.

For the record, most NFT games involve a concept where players have the opportunity to buy or sell items and land in the game. This is how the players make a quick profit, especially when there is hype.
