Petrofac, an oil services provider in the United Kingdom (UK) has secured a new contract worth RM399 million from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd which is a subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas).
According to a statement from Petrofac on Monday, the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) contract will assist the operation of their new plant, Bintulu Gas Sale Facilities 2 (BAGSF-2) located off the coast of Tanjung Kidurong, Bintulu, Sarawak.
They added that the new facilities will include process and utility units, effluent treatment units, metering slips, fire water tanks, pumps, beacon systems and a main substation building.
In addition, the project also involves a major renovation and linking of the existing Petronas plant in addition to the facility's 390 million standard integrated feet per day (MMSCFD) capacity.
Malaysia has been Petrofac's operations center in the Asia-Pacific region since establishing a cooperative relationship since 2004. It combines engineering, operations, well engineering, asset management, decommissioning and the company's training capabilities to support the local and Asian markets.
