Apple Inc executive officer, Tim Cook, took to his personal Twitter to say that Apple Inc will donate aid to flood victims in Malaysia and the Philippines.


Tim Cook expressed his sympathy for the prey impressed by Typhoon Rai which caused such devastating destruction in the Philippines and caused massive flooding in Malaysia.


On Twitter, Cook also expressed Apple's commitment to contributing to the long-term relief, recovery and re-building efforts in the two countries.


Typhoon Rai has caused so much devastation in the Philippines and Malaysia — so many families have lost so much. Apple will be contributing to relief, recovery, and longer-term rebuilding efforts. #OdettePH

Meanwhile, many Twitter users gave a positive reaction to Cook's Tweet.


There were also Twitter users in Malaysia and the Philippines who asked Cook to donate aid directly to local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) rather than through the government.


Some of us here in the Philippines also do not want the donations to go through our government. Corruption is everywhere
