As previously reported, five parachains: Acala Network, Astar Network, Moonbeam, Clover, and Parallel Finance were finally launched in the Polkadot ecosystem on December 17th.
For the record, all five of these parachains have won Polkadot auctioned parachains slots since early November 2021.
It is understood that almost 99 million DOTs (worth around $ 2.4 billion or RM10.15 billion) were successfully raised as ‘capital’ for the five parachains to ‘rent’ on the Polkadot network for two years.
These Polkadot slot-winning projects will focus on collecting use cases especially from the aspects of decentralized finance (DeFi) and loans, as well as more.
The interesting thing about these Polkadot featured parachains is that each network can support each other despite different backgrounds as they are all tied to the Relay Chain.
As of the writing of this article, there are already over 200 projects in Polkadot and the parachains slot auction is still underway for the next series for the period 23 to 30 December 2021.
DOT traded at $ 24.63, down more than 2% in 24 hours.
