Electric car maker Tesla will discontinue a function that allows drivers to play video games on their car’s touch screen while driving.
Tesla has made the decision following the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) which has conducted an investigation into 580,000 units of Tesla cars that went on sale since 2017.
Citing a source from a Tesla spokesperson, they are working on an update that will lock the ‘Passenger Play’ function and ensure the function is turned off while the vehicle is moving.
He added that they were concerned about the issues outlined by NHTSA after the issue of the accident of Tesla vehicles operating with Autopilot function.
Earlier, the advanced functions of Tesla vehicles had received attention when there was a fatal accident involving Autopilot in California in 2018.
