The court gave the United States (US) supervisory agency, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), an opportunity to deny an order to provide important government documents related to the prosecution of the sale of an illegal securities asset, XRP.

For the record, on January 14 - judge Sarah Netburn issued an order against the SEC to hand over several documents of the case, including:

Records of personal meetings between the SEC and Ethereum -related third parties (ETH).

A recording of a speech by former SEC finance director William Hinman who ruled Bitcoin (BTC) and ETH were not securities.

But the SEC asked for a period of time to deny the order and the agency's application was approved.

The SEC reportedly got a four -week deadline to do so.

Seeing his style, the case goes on again. Will this wait take the whole of 2022?

At the time of writing, XRP is trading at $ 0.59, down over 2% in 24 hours. The asset needs a jump of at least 84% to redeem a record all-time high (ATH), $ 3.84 on January 4, 2018.
