The United States may see the contagion during Covid-19 as bringing no threat to the economy, but growth in the labor market is the opposite.
It's revealed in the latest data that more Americans have left their jobs and there has been a dampness in hiring in recent months.
According to data on recruitment by business payroll managers Homebase and UKG, employment declined in December, in line with the transmission during the Covid-19 outbreak caused by the Omicron variant.
Data from both firms also show a larger seasonal decline this year than in 2020.
At the same time, the latest data from the kingdom shows 4.5 million US workers quit voluntarily in November, mainly from low-income groups and the frontline service sector.
With demand for workers high, analysts say it may bring more pressure on companies to raise wages and make it harder for the Federal Reserve (Fed) to reach maximum employment levels.
The reading of this data may be a clue to the US NFP jobs report which will be published on Friday.
