Hmm, another case involving the Apple AppStore, when do you want to improve this?
Apple will allow the development of online dating apps in the Netherlands to offer payment options in addition to Apple’s payment system as a measure of compliance with the country’s market regulator orders.
On December 24 last year, Dutch Consumer and Market authorities found that Apple had abused its position in the market by requiring dating app developers such as Tinder Match Group Inc to use a payment system in the AppStore.
According to Apple on Saturday, the company will abide by the decision and introduce ‘2 new optional credentials applicable exclusively to the dating app on the AppStore that will provide additional payment processing options for users’.
However, they also stated that developers do not require the use of non -Apple tools and also warned that Apple will not help with security systems or refunds that occur outside the system because ‘they will not be aware of it directly’.
Meanwhile, Apple is appealing the decision issued by the Dutch government.
