What happened?
Record 24 January
OpenSea is facing worldwide criticism over the hacking that resulted in some popular NFT collections being sold at floor prices.
The incident was spotted on the same date after one of the owners of the Bored Ape Yatch Club (BAYC), @/T_BALLER6 expressed his shock via a tweet on the Twitter page.
However when researched by the NFT community, it turns out that this incident has been happening since early January 2022.
It is understood this incident stemmed from a bug that took old contracts that were still available on the blockchain and matched them with user information in OpenSea.
Following that, OpenSea has launched its latest three -function initiative two days after the incident.
