On January 6, Korean electronics giant (Samsung) introduced a feature that allows customers to attend events or concerts virtually. The latest metaverse experience is called the Samsung 837X.
In their announcement they described the feature as "an immersive world that can be explored virtually." The Samsung 837X is "like a playground for people to explore amazing things when technology and culture collide."
Fans looking to take advantage of the opportunity will need to first enter Decentraland - the leading virtual reality platform powered by the Ethereum blockchain.
"What's interesting, you can get NFT badges and an exclusive collection, limited items for Samsung Decentraland users' profits that can be adjusted in the avatar," the giant explained.
Throughout 2022, the firm aims to bring new experiences to many people by rolling out a multiverse approach on new platforms. The Samsung 837X will also be open in Decentraland for a limited time.
Michelle Crossan-Matos, Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing and Communications at Samsung Electronics America, said:
“At the Samsung 837X, we are excited to tell the story of our connectivity, sustainability and adaptability in a new way in a unique space. Metaverse gives us the power to transcend physical and space limits to create unique virtual experiences. This innovation makes us look forward to it. ”
A few days ago, Samsung announced its plans to integrate "non-fungible tokens. To achieve its goal, Samsung will integrate the new "NFT Aggregation Platform" on its smart TVs starting this year. This feature will be available on the “MicroLed, Neo QLED and The Frame versions” models, as users will be able to purchase the digital collection directly from the TV set.
The technology giant has been quite active in the crypto asset space lately. Earlier this week as well, it had partnered with Veritree which is a blockchain platform powered by Cardano.
As such, Samsung has pledged to plant more than two million trees in the territory of Madagascar by the end of Q1 2022.
