YouTube could be the latest platform to consider NFT in their ecosystem, as the sector continues to show improvement in growth and daily usage.

Currently, a giant website in the United States video hosting, YouTube, has intended to enter the “non-fungible token” (NFT) sector, part of the company’s plans to grow.

As reported by Bloomberg on Tuesday (January 25, 2022), YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, in an annual letter stated that the company is looking at ways to help content designers benefit from “non-fungible tokens” (NFTs).

The excerpt of the letter said, "We are always focused on growing the YouTube ecosystem to help content designers take advantage of emerging technologies, including things like NFT and at the same time continue to improve the experience of content designers and fans on YouTube."

Meanwhile, although Wojcicki did not provide further details on YouTube's NFT show plan, he noted that Web3 was a "source of inspiration."

The YouTube CEO also noted that in 2021, “NFT” and “decentralized autonomous organizations (DAO)” open up more opportunities for content designers and fans to connect.

The latest development comes shortly after Twitter’s microblogging platform launched a new feature that allows users to authenticate their NFT using a profile picture.

As we all know, other social media like Meta, formerly known as Facebook, and Instagram, are also developing features that allow users to create and sell NFTs.
