The Exchange Makes Its First Bounce In 2022 Because Of This Factor

 At 9.05am the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was up 0.07 points at 1,549.12 from Monday's close of 1,549.05.


The index opened 1.87 points at 1,550.92.


It opened higher from a bounce on Monday as a result of modest buying support on heavyweights.


On the broader market, investors saw gainers outnumber losers by 156 to 114, while 225 counters were unchanged, 1,778 untraded and 15 suspended.


Total turnover at 141.98 million units worth RM63.14 million.


A note issued by Malacca Securities Sdn Bhd expressed positive sentiment rising following the strong performance of the Wall Street market overnight.



Apart from that, the price of palm oil rose by more than RM4,800 while the price of crude oil was at US $ 78 or RM326.12 per barrel.


Heavyweights saw Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) fall 1 sen to RM8.32, Public Bank Bhd fell 2 sen to RM4.13 and CIMB Group Holding Bhd declined 3 sen to RM5.46 while IHH Healthcare Bhd and Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB ) remained at RM6.87 and RM9.23.


Next, Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd (Petchem) rose 7 sen to RM8.83.


Active stocks saw Bintai Kinden Corp Bhd and SMTrack Bhd rise 1.5 sen at 24.5 sen and 25 sen, SC Estate Builder Bhd added 1 sen at 8.5 sen and Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNeX) drove 0.5 sen at 81.5 sen while Opcom Holdings Bhd gained 2 sen. at RM1.01.


On the index board, the FBM Emas index rose 7.84 points at 11,230.23, FBM Emas Shariah added 17.02 points at 12,113.36, FBM 70 reached 38.53 points at 14,264.38 and the FBMT 100 index gained 7.21 points at 10,925.02.


Meanwhile, FBM ACE declined 0.23 points at 6,545.04.


The Products and Services Industry Index peaked 0.76 points at 202.15, the Plantation index declined 0.14 points at 6,660.24 and the Financial Services index declined 6.67 points at 15,607.4.
