In the wake of escalating tensions on its border, Ukraine has called for meetings with Russia and other countries from major European security groups over the tensions.
In the latest development, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said Russia had ignored its official request to explain the country’s actions of forming a military line on its border.
As a result, the next step to be taken is to request a meeting in the next 48 hours to seek clarification on Russia's plans.
Russia has denied any plans to invade Ukraine despite the presence of about 100,000 of its troops on the Ukrainian border.
Nevertheless, some Western countries, especially the United States have warned that Russia is preparing to launch an attack at any time.
Over the past week, many countries have ordered their citizens to leave Ukraine and take out embassy staff from the capital.
Tensions between Russia and Ukraine have escalated in recent times after Moscow refused to accept Kiev’s (Ukraine’s capital) participation in joining the NATO military alliance rejected by Western allies.
