Korean Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) officials will conduct an investigation into a US-made electric vehicle (EV), Tesla for allegedly exaggerating the vehicle's battery specifications.
Citing sources from Yonhap news agency, KFTC antitrust regulators have reported Tesla's model 3 EV has exaggerated the vehicle's travel distance, thus violating the Fair Labeling and Advertising Act.
According to Tesla's website, the Model 3 can travel 528 km on a single charge, but KFTC officials found the distance was less than that if temperatures dropped to below freezing.
However, analysts think EVs will often lose total travel distance during the winter.
As of this writing, Tesla has not issued any further statements.
