CryptoPunks #5822 Sold At Nearly RM 100 Million, Making The Most Expensive NFT Of The CryptoPunks Series!

 Another NFT from the Cryptopunks collection was sold at a price tag of $ 23.7 million (equivalent to RM 95,854,889) yesterday.


CryptoPunk #5822 sold to CEO of cloud blockchain infrastructure company, Chain; Deepak Thapliyal with a crypto value, 8,000 ETH.




The purchase at the same time has recorded the most expensive transaction in the world for the CryptoPunks collection series to date.


Previously, DraftKings' largest shareholder, Shalom Meckenzie bought CryptoPunk #7532 or "Covid Alien" for $ 11.8 million.



What is interesting about CryptoPunk #5822?


It is understood that this NFT is one of the rarest with the concept of aliens. Only 9 alien punks are produced out of 10,000 CryptoPunks in the world.


The last time #5822 was sold at a cheap price was on July 10, 2017. At that time, the price was only 8 ETH (RM22,933).


The world’s most expensive NFT record is still owned by Beeple’s work - ‘Everydays: The First 5,000 Days’, followed by the NFT ‘Clock’ by an artist known as Pak. His work is worth $ 54 million.


While another Beeple work, ‘Human One’ which comes with a hybrid concept - physical and digital sculpture - sold for $ 29 million in November.
