‘Efforts by these 2 world social media giants are expected to help the people of Ukraine.’

Facebook owned by Meta Platform Inc and Twitter Inc launched security measures for users of the 2 applications in Ukraine to curb the spread of false information about the Russian-Ukrainian war crisis.

Facebook, through a post on its official account on the Twitter application, informed that the company has set up a special operations center to monitor the development of conflict in Ukraine and launched a function that allows users to lock their profiles for security purposes.

Facebook's head of security policy, Nathaniel Gleicher, said his company has launched a one -click function to allow users in Ukraine to lock their profiles from being accessed by other users.

Along with that, Twitter has also released a post to teach users how to protect their accounts from being hacked as well as show how to keep their tweets private and how to deactivate their accounts.

The tweet was written in 3 languages, English; Russia; and Ukraine so that it is easily understood by consumers in Ukraine.

It is common knowledge that Facebook and Twitter are often used for the purpose of disseminating political activities and research to disseminate information during crises.

It could indirectly lead to the spread of misinformation about the war crisis between Russia and Ukraine.

In the wake of the crisis that is plaguing the world, most social media such as TikTok, Snapchat and Twitter have been flooded with videos believed to be the current situation in Ukraine, some of which may not be true.
