On February 8, 2022, it was rumored that a home in Gulfport would be auctioned in the form of an NFT according to homeowner Leslie Alessandra.
The homeowner has reported to the real estate press that it will be the first real estate sale in the U.S. to be auctioned in the form of an NFT,
To realize the sale, Alessandra has entered into a partnership with a company called Propy. Propy is a company that once sold a Michael Arrington flat in Kiev through tokens. The apartment of Techcrunch founder Michael Arrington was sold in 2017 in one of the real estate deals that use the blockchain.
Alessandra who is also the founder of the Tampa Bay blockchain and a real estate investor stressed that NFT allows the transaction process to be done like the use of Venmo. According to the report, the NFT will also feature murals produced by local artist Derek Donnelly, otherwise known as ‘Saint Paint.’
On a different side, there is another almost similar project, known as the One DAO project. The project plans to leverage autonomous decentralization to purchase a famous home dubbed The One Bel Air.
While the Gulfport home in Florida is only $ 650,000, The One Bel Air started with a significant demand price of $ 295 million.
