European ministers have long stopped using Facebook, only ministers near Malaysia are still using it.
German and French politicians do not care about the threat of Meta Platform Inc who wants to shut down the Facebook application due to European legal rules that prevent any data from being taken out of the European zone.
German Economy Minister Robert Habeck and French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said their lives had gotten better since not using Facebook and Twitter for 4 years.
Le Maire added, he felt life without Facebook was much better and asked other digital giants to understand the will of the opposing continent of Europe and affirm its sovereignty.
The comments were issued by them in response to Meta’s threat of Facebook shutting down because the tech giant needed user data to provide product and service recommendations to its customers.
Meanwhile, Le Maire has listed ways European governments are challenging other tech giants including introducing privacy rules, taxes and restricting the development of digital currencies.
