It's best to eat fast-food and pay for SHIB.
Shytoshi Kusama, founder of the crypto currency Shiba Inu, announced a partnership with Italian fast-food chain Welly’s.
Welly’s has done a rebranding by making the Shiba Inu dog the mascot and the new slogan ‘I am Ryoshi, We Eat Welly’ which refers to Ryoshi, the creator of the meme coin.
The fast food chain is also adjusting its menu and marketing strategy.
As expected, the store will use the SHIB cryptocurrency as a payment system, in addition to being given the option to use Dogecoin (DOGE).
According to Kusama, the unnamed restaurant is known for offering high quality food.
Meanwhile, only one Welly’s store is located in Naples. But the restaurant plans to penetrate the global market, further rejecting the idea of working with a large centralized conglomerate.
While there are some who regard the collaboration as a mere gimmick, Welly’s insists that it is for the long term.
This is not the first time news has involved the use of cryptocurrencies as a payment system in fast food restaurants.
Earlier, Tesla chief executive Elon Musk had asked McDonald’s to accept DOGE. Unexpectedly, the world's largest fast food premise urged Musk to accept the Grimace Coin.
The matter also received a reaction from Burger King who wanted to increase its involvement in the cryptocurrency community.
Also, MrBeast Burger, a restaurant chain opened by renowned Youtube vlogger MrBeast, stated it would give huge support to Dogecoin if Elon Musk re-tweeted his tweet.
