A line of blockchain or play-to-earn (P2E) -based game developers, Axie Infinity (AXS) has made changes to its reward system to rebalance its project ecosystem.
It is understood that they will reduce the production rate of Smooth Love Potion (SLP) tokens, around 45 million SLP per day.
Previously, the daily quest introduced was to encourage users to play Axie Infinity every day. However, the situation was out of control when the production of SLP as a reward for players increased than expected.
It is expected that there will be a decrease in the total SLP, possibly up to 56%.
While these changes are relatively aggressive actions, at least they have already avoided the collapse of the entire economy.
AXS and SLP price reaction
The SLP price recorded an increase of up to over 176% from a daily low (February 3), $ 0.0087 to a daily high of $ 0.024 (February 8).
However at the time of writing, SLP is trading slightly lower, hitting a value of $ 0.02 with an increase of almost 6% in 24 hours.
But for the AXS, the asset registered a decline of over 3% over the same period, trading at $ 65.23 after jumping over 56% from the $ 46.19 level (Feb. 3) to the $ 72.09 (Feb. 7) level.
New revamp?
The Axie Infinity developer team also plans to create a $ 6 million prize fund and introduce a revamp to the game’s reward structure.
A 19th season record, Axie Infinity has distributed a total of 3,000 AXS to a number of reliable players based on leaderboards.
This time, the reward has increased to 117,676 for the top 300,000 players for next season.
