Warner Bros. announced the suspension of the screening of the film The Batman in protest of Russia’s actions in invading Ukraine.
A Warner Bros. spokesman has issued a media statement criticizing the actions that have resulted in loss of life in Ukraine and hopes all the tragedies that have occurred can be resolved peacefully.
This indicates that the entertainment industry is also joining other sectors such as technology in imposing sanctions on Russia.
Citing a source from The Hollywood Reporter, Russia is the largest Box Office market in Europe and is the most lucrative region for Hollywood -produced films.
For example, Sony's Spider-Man: No Way Home, which premiered in Russia, has grossed more than $ 44.5 million since its release in December.
In addition to Warner Bros., Disney and Sony are trying to act to do the same by postponing the release of the animated films Turning Red and Morbius that are supposed to be released next month.
