The banking giant, HSBC has officially entered into a partnership with The Sandbox through the ownership of a plot in the metaverse to further expand their reach to its community.

Indirectly HSBC became the first bank to explore The Sandbox after the metaverse welcomed some big brands like Gucci, Warner Music, and Ubisoft.

Based on HSBC's head of marketing for the Asia Pacific division, metaverse is a space that offers a Web 3.0 experience - the latest generation of the internet.

So it is not surprising if these institutions are interested in creating a new experience through developing platforms, while offering their users to participate.

It is understood HSBC will launch a sports zone to connect with sports, e-sports, and gaming fans based on the virtual stadium set up at The Sandbox.

Seeing the growing interest among the banking industry, co -founder Sebastien Borget thinks it is a start to widespread acceptance of the metaverse and Web 3.0 through experience with new ecosystems.

Previously there was a record of JPMorgan having ventured into the metaverse space through the establishment of a lounge, known as the Onyx Lounge.

SAND native tokens recorded a jump of more than 9% in the two hours after the news was announced via The Sandbox’s official account on Twitter.

At the time of writing, SAND was slightly down from that record but still survived with a jump of over 7%, trading at $ 2.92 per unit.
