‘For everyone’s safety, Elon Musk warns to be careful.’

Elon Musk, head of SpaceX which sends Starlink satellites in Ukraine, warned that his company’s broadband services could be ‘targeted’ by Russia for airstrikes.

An internet security researcher at the University of Toronto’s Citizen Lab Project, John Scott-Railton, issued a warning that devices used for satellite communications could be ‘beacons’ targeted by Russia for airstrikes.

As a result, Elon Musk in a tweet on Twitter warned people in Ukraine to be careful when using the Starlink service because it is the only non-Russian communication system that still works in the country.

He added that the public is advised to place light camouflage on the antenna to avoid visual detection.

It is common knowledge that Musk has placed Starlink in Ukraine so that the war -torn countries have internet access.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mykhailo Federov expressed his gratitude to Starlink for its efforts to ‘keep all cities in touch’.

Still, the country needs generators to keep Starlink services running because the Russian attack destroyed other infrastructure.

In response, SpaceX is updating software that reduces peak power consumption so that Starlink can be powered from a car lighter.

In a separate news release, Russia and Ukraine have agreed to a ceasefire to make room for people to flee late Thursday.
