The popularity of non-fungible tokens (NFT) could no longer be curbed when Mark Zuckerberg confirmed the form of digital ownership would be present to Instagram in the near future.
Zuckerberg shared the news at the South by Southwest (SXSW) event in Texas yesterday.
Not sure how the latest feature design will come into the social media app, Zuckerberg explained Instagram users who own NFT can showcase their collection and potentially produce their own NFT using the platform.
The CEO of Meta also admitted that there are still many technical matters that need to be arranged to ensure that all projects are launched perfectly.
There is no denying that previously Instagram executive, Adam Mosseri has revealed that Meta is studying NFT technology. Even in January it was also reported that they planned to add NFT to the crypto wallet, Novi.
The report also mentions that NFT’s presence on Instagram and Facebook allows users to turn their collections into profile pictures, generate NFTs, and set up NFT trading platforms.
It seems the time has come where Instagram users can first enjoy the NFT trend after Twitter did so last month.
Maybe after Instagram, NFT will come to Facebook. I hope aunts and uncles understand what NFT is. Don't be surprised if they see a picture of an ape or a pixel punk.
