US President Joe Biden in his speech on Wednesday has promised that Russia will receive continued retribution in the long run despite winning the war with Ukraine.
Speaking before Congress on the sixth day of the Kremlin’s attack on Ukraine, Biden announced new measures banning Russian flights from using American airspace.
In addition, he also promised to implement further economic response against Russia, mentioning President Vladimir Putin, "He does not know what is coming".
Russia is now moving forward to capture the capital Kiev, as it continues to launch attacks in Kharkiv and also reportedly takes control of the city of Kherson.
Meanwhile, Biden also signaled about measures to curb Putin's army in the future, in which the United States is likely to restrict Russia's access to technology that could weaken its economy and military in the coming years.
Biden, who had previously spoken with Ukrainian President Vlodymyr Zelensky, had ruled out direct U.S. military participation in the country.
However, the United States has shared intelligence on Russian operations and led the world in imposing economic sanctions on Russia that caused the currency to fall to an all -time low.
The market reaction following the statement only showed that most major currencies were unchanged with the US dollar continuing to trade stronger.
