Ukraine recently decided to cancel an airdrop grant plan for crypto donors scheduled for today. This decision was taken to avoid any untoward incidents as the airdrop event may have been the victim of an attempted data theft. The country will instead issue NFTs as a token of appreciation to donors in crypto form.
Such a step should be taken as there are signs of attempted data theft through the Ethereum Ukraine wallet. The cancellation was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov in his tweet.
After careful consideration we decided to cancel airdrop. Every day there are more and more people willing to help Ukraine to fight back the aggression. Instead, we will announce NFTs to support Ukrainian Armed Forces soon. We DO NOT HAVE any plans to issue any fungible tokens

The country’s Ethereum wallet was initially seen distributing a newly forged token called Peaceful World (WORLD). Yet this could be sniffed out by the crypto community on Twitter quickly and the view that the token could be a form of fraud.
Ukraine on Wednesday announced an airdrop grant to be given to crypto donors totaling $ 50 million. Airdrop is often a marketing tactic used by blockchain projects where owners distribute free tokens to increase engagement with the platform.
In addition, Ukraine also began accepting several altcoins, including DOGE memecoin. The nation’s ethereum wallet is now worth about $ 12 million, according to the latest data from Etherscan.
Ukraine is now the first country in the world to officially solicit donations via crypto. The volume of cryptocurrencies among the population also increased after the hryvnia fell and electronic payment systems ran into problems.
