Huawei's cloud computing subsidiary, Huawei Cloud, launched its first non-fungible token (NFT) package airdrop last night.
It is understood that the airdrop is based on the Huawei mascot and it is one of the efforts of the Huawei Cloud branding campaign.
Although it is not clear which blockchain is used, through the official announcement it is possible that they have used Huawei's blockchain – the 'petal chain'.
At the time of writing, all of Huawei's NFTs have been sold.
This latest announcement indirectly proves that many Chinese giant companies have entered the NFT field.
Tencent, Alibaba, Baidu, NetEase, and JD.com are among the companies that have launched the NFT market platform.
It is uncertain to what extent the country's NFT-related laws were introduced.
What is clear, criticism from the government against NFT and crypto has prompted these giant companies to block or prohibit the resale of NFT.
If the country's lawmakers justify the original sale, the NFT market in China will rise to a value of $4.68 billion (RM19.8 billion).
But if the opposite holds true, the NFT market is only worth $937 million (RM3.96 billion).
