It has been a long time since Covid-19 hit the world 2 years ago, now Malindo Airways Sdn Bhd owned by Lion Group Indonesia based in Malaysia will have a new look.
It is understood that Malindo Air used to be, not the current one because it has officially changed its name to Batik Air.
The matter has been confirmed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia which will take effect on Thursday, 28 April 2022.
According to a statement from Lion Group on April 27, Batik Air has received approval to conduct business and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has been made the transit hub of Lion Group airlines.
For information, Lion Group owns several airline groups including Malindo Air, Lion Air, Batik Air, Wings Air and Thai Lion Air.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Captain Mushafiz Mustafa Bakri expressed his excitement with the rebranding and welcomed the reopening of the borders which will provide opportunities for the company's growth potential.
He added that the rebranding will also see new service offerings in stages and passengers and partners will be informed progressively during the launch.
So far, Batik Air is said to be receiving delivery of 10 units of Boeing 737 MAX from Lion Group this year.
