Banking giant Citibank predicts the metaverse economy will reach $ 13 trillion (RM54.84 trillion) by 2030.

The growth of the metaverse for now is seen as very dubious. Either way, it’s limited to online gaming platforms that rely on 3D interactive or offline mediated reality (AR).

But Wall Street players agree if this space has great potential to continue to evolve as a concept of extended reality in virtual form.

For example, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Bank of America.

Not only that, Citibank also predicts that metaverse usage will grow to 5 billion users from all over the world!

It just took a few years to grow and sustain its technological capabilities, thus changing the mentality of the people.

In fact, what Citibank predicted is highly unlikely even if Web 2.0 pioneers thought otherwise.

On Feb. 11, Tim O’Reilly described the metaverse as a very critical bubble. But at the end of O’Reilly’s conclusion, there are rays for the metaverse sector to actually meet Citibank’s forecast.

For now, Citibank is focused on achieving its vision - a “Brave New Meta World” by 2030 with significant investment allocations and technological improvements.

Several aspects of the metaverse will be studied closely, and it also involves the actual definition of the virtual world, its infrastructure, crypto assets-NFT, money, and DeFi, as well as changes or enactments related to the virtual world.
