The turmoil in the crypto market has not dampened the desire of United Arab Emirates (UAE) airlines, Emirates to adopt digital technologies, including blockchain, metaverse, and cryptocurrencies.
Most recently, Emirates chief executive officer Adel Ahmed Al-Redha informed his company is ready to use Bitcoin as a payment service for the entire ecosystem of the company.
Not only that, they also want to further diversify Emirates products through a series of non-fungible token (NFT) collections.
In line with this goal, Emirates will appoint new staff with expertise in metaverse and NFT to ensure that new applications will meet the needs of their users.
Metaverse & transformation
While the airline industry is recording a recovery through a positive increase in users, the CEO of Emirates is confident that the presence of the metaverse is not just a trend factor but its existence is capable of changing the whole process:
"..No matter in operations, training, sales on the website, or full experience, it makes everything more interactive."
Although the accessibility of resources across the network is seen to be limited but Al-Redha is confident it is much better than other countries due to the adoption of the technology.
