EU unveils further details of Russia's gas bulkhead design

 Suruhanjaya Europe has released further details about its plans to end its dependence on Russian power supplies.


Russia has supplied 40% of its natural gas and 27% of its imported oil to the European Union (EU) which is worth about €400 billion a year.


However, Russia's intrusion into Ukraine has prompted the EU to impose barriers that involve the banning of Russian oil, which has so far contributed greatly to the bloc.



In addition, this barrier also gives the EU a reason to accelerate its transition to green power.


According to the updated reserves, showing a strategy that focuses on three main topic areas namely increasing energy efficiency, expanding the use of renewable energy and obtaining other oil and gas suppliers.


The reserves not only cover the EU's plan to insulate Russia but also to completely stop power users from Moscow by 2030.


The plan, called REPowerEU, is estimated to be worth €210 billion over the next five years.
