‘As the hipster saying goes: member business support.’

Despite sanctions imposed on Russia by Western powers over the Ukrainian invasion, China remains the country's largest oil buyer under President Vladimir Putin.

Xi Jinping's government is seen increasing oil imports from Russia despite reduced demand due to Covid and slower economic growth.

It indirectly strengthens the declaration of friendship between the two countries which is allegedly ‘unlimited’.

That string, Russia's oil imports soared from the previous year to reach record highs in May and replace Saudi Arabia as China's largest supplier.

According to sources, Beijing government -controlled refining firms Sinopec and Zhenhua Oil have boosted Russian crude oil imports in recent months with huge discount offers.

For the record, discounts have been given because Western countries refuse to buy crude oil from Russia.

It is understood that the crude oil supply was pumped through the East Siberian Pacific Ocean pipeline which amounted to 8.42 million tonnes last month, surpassing Saudi Arabia's oil imports to China by 7.82 million tonnes.

According to him, China is seen to continue to import oil from its allies despite Western powers influencing banning actions around the world.

This can also be seen with the purchase of 260,000 tons of Iranian crude oil despite the United States (US) blocking Tehran oil.
