Cloudflare on Tuesday was facing a technical issue this afternoon that eventually caused an error on many websites. Nevertheless the issue was successfully identified by the Cloudfare team and allowed them to take proactive steps to restore the affected services.
Affected services include crypto websites, shopping platforms, social platforms and popular games. Some of the crypto sites affected are FTX, KuCoin, Coinbase, Amazon, Minecraft, Steam, Discord, Telegram, GitLab and many more.
The Cloudflare team is so far investigating the P0 incident that occurred at around 2.34 pm this afternoon which caused almost all internet websites to experience errors or ‘server time out’. According to Cloudfare, "The incident has affected all services in the Cloudfare network. We will continue to give notice for any further information ”.
After 30 minutes of the incident, Cloudfare has informed that they have identified the issue and implemented corrections to restore the affected service.
John Graham-Cumming, CTO of Cloudflare, said the disruption did not happen worldwide but many places have been affected. Several crypto platforms including FTX, KuCoin, Kraken, Coinbase, WazirX, eToro, CoinMarketCap, Coingecko, Nexo and others have been affected.
In addition popular websites such as 2K Games, League of Legends, Minecraft, Steam, Amazon Web Services, Discord, DoorDash, Gitlab, Shopify, Skype, UPS, Udemy, Canva, and HubSpot, are among those impressed.
Most websites use Cloudfare because of the resulting performance as well as DDoS protection and security. In addition, platforms that use the DigitalOcean DNS service to propagate IP also face problems because the service relies on Cloudflare.
This is Cloudfare’s second disruption in a week’s time. On June 15 other disruptions also occurred causing several services including Discord, GitLab and SaaS platforms OSlash, Shopify and Canva to face network issues in India, Indonesia and Eastern Europe.
