‘Retaliation seems to be Tesla and former employees.’

Tesla Inc’s ‘mass layoffs’ have paid off when former employees retaliated by suing the Elon Musk-owned company.

It is understood that 2 former employees at Tesla's gigafactory plant in Sparks, Nevada, namely John Lynch and Daxton Hartsfield, have filed a lawsuit in Texas court while representing more than 500 other employees who were also terminated.

According to the filing, Tesla allegedly violated federal law on mass layoffs that require a 60-day notification period as enshrined in the Employee Adjustment and Retraining Notices Act.

In addition, the filing also seeks to find class action status for all former Tesla employees across the United States (US) who were laid off in May and June without prior notice.

So far, Tesla has not issued any response or media statement on the suit.

It’s worth noting that the chronology began with Musk’s statement at the beginning of the month that expressed a ‘disgusting’ sense of the economy and then decided to lay off at least 10% of Tesla’s workforce.

To date, nearly 20 executive employees have been identified by Tesla for retrenchment or termination of service.

Comment Shannon Liss-Riordan, attorney representing the plaintiffs, said Tesla's actions blatantly violated federal labor laws and justice needed to be upheld.
