Harmony-Ethereum Network Connector Hacked, RM440 Million Lost!

 Horizon, the link between the Ethereum network, Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and the Harmony blockchain network, has been hacked resulting in $ 100 million (RM440.45 million) missing and being stolen.


Harmony said in a tweet on Twitter that the hacking took place on Thursday morning, and it is working with state authorities and forensic experts to identify the perpetrators as well as recover the stolen funds.


1/ The Harmony team has identified a theft occurring this morning on the Horizon bridge amounting to approx. $ 100MM. We have begun working with national authorities and forensic specialists to identify the culprit and retrieve the stolen funds.

This is the third major liaison hack to occur this year, where in February, hackers stole more than $ 300 million (RM1.34 billion) from Wormhole, the Ethereum and Solana network liaison.


In late March, Ronin's network link was hacked, causing a loss of about $ 620 million (RM2.6 billion).


Bridges are very vulnerable to hacking due to the technology being complex and it is often operated by anonymous.
