‘Even in the virtual world, you have to style, right?’
Meta Platform Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg launched a digital clothing store that can be used in the metaverse world alongside the world’s leading fashion brands.
In a speech during a live Instagram, Zuckerberg stated collaborations with leading brands such as Balenciaga, Prada and Thom Browne will offer clothes to be purchased and worn on avatars in the metaverse.
He added that Meta will build the stores with an open market concept that allows developers to create and sell various types of digital clothing to the public.
Revealing about avatars, it is the primary medium that manipulates users into the metaverse virtual world, where they can communicate with each other through the use of VR headsets.
According to a company statement, the Meta avatar can not only be used to play video games but can also be worn in daily activities such as exercising and attending conferences.
Going back to the original news, a Meta spokesperson said that the price for the designer clothes will be sold at the $ 2.99 and $ 8.99 price tags, which are much cheaper than the original price in the real world.
