Google’s YouTube Shorts service has recorded an increase in user growth of 1.5 billion since its launch 2 years ago.

It indirectly sends a new signal of competition to the short video app, TikTok which gained incredible popularity last year.

For your information, Alphabet Inc's YouTube has offered the YouTube Shorts service which will broadcast videos less than 60 seconds long such as TikTok.

Review YouTube’s Chief Product Officer (CEO), Neal Mohan, the Shorts service records at least 1.5 billion active users per month and it will be part of the company’s future prospects.

In addition, Youtube is also seen actively promoting Shorts in an effort to compete with TikTok.

For example, last year the company launched a US $ 100 million fund to reward content creators (creators) in the Shorts app in addition to partnering with Silicon Valley advertising giant to help creators generate revenue from their content.

Americas Vice President Tara Walpert Levy reported creators were seen taking advantage of the podcasting, short video and live streaming services YouTube offers.

Obviously, YouTube's new approach is seen as boosting YouTube's popularity as the most popular video app in the past.

Meanwhile, Facebook Meta Platforms is also seen not sitting still when launching its own short video function in the future.

So it's no wonder that YouTube, TikTok and Meta will be the bottom line for creators to generate services, as well as open up space for future advertising revenue.
