Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese urged China to lift restrictions on some of the country's imports, including coal.
In an interview on Sky News on Sunday, Albanese told that there is no justification for these restrictions on Australian products and they should all be withdrawn.
He said again, this is in the interest of China and Australia to withdraw all the restrictions.
Albanese said he wants to work with Beijing where they can actually do it.
This is not the first time, the new prime minister of Australia has said his call, not to mention that before there were also reports that China was considering ending the coal embargo from the country.
Russia's war in Ukraine has fueled concerns about world commodity supplies and sent prices soaring.
China, once a major consumer of Australian coal, implemented an unofficial ban in late 2020 as tensions between Canberra and Beijing escalated.
Restrictions also apply to several other Australian products, including lobster, wine and beef.
If the ban on Australia is lifted, it could provide an opportunity for the Aussie dollar to make gains.
