Gucci is the first famous luxury fashion brand to accept payments using ApeCoin (APE).
Gucci's collaboration with ApeCoin has allowed the ApeCoin project to give new exposure in the future in the form of utility for the crypto.
Now, Gucci customers in the United States (US) can buy their goods using ApeCoin. The payment infrastructure will be provided by BitPay, a firm that can accept payments in crypto.
Despite the bearish state of the crypto market, Gucci is serious about entering the crypto sector this year. Previously, Gucci launched "SUPERGUCCI" NFT in collaboration with the SUPERLASTIC brand.
And the following month Gucci launched the NFT collection "Gucci Grail' to attract the attention of the owners of famous NFT projects such as Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).
Gucci also confirmed that they will also start accepting 12 crypto assets such as Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ether (ETH), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Litecoin (LTC), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Dogecoin (DOGE). and five US dollar stablecoins for their payment method in 111 stores in North America.
Additionally, BAYC collectors seem to have shown strong support for Gucci's current crypto move.
This can be proven when Twitter personality, NBATopShotEast has become the first individual to buy Gucci goods using ETH including two other BAYC individuals.
