The United States appears to be ignoring China's warning as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is reportedly set to arrive in Taiwan on Tuesday.
Previously, China has repeatedly warned that Pelosi's plan to visit the island could threaten security.
However, the Americans responded by saying they would not be deterred by warnings from Beijing over the visit.
Pelosi, who began a trip to Asia earlier on Monday in Singapore, is expected to stay in Taiwan on Tuesday night, according to multiple sources cited by Reuters.
However, so far there is still no statement from Taiwan's foreign ministry about it, but the White House said Pelosi has the right to go there although it did not confirm about the trip.
Following reports of Pelosi's visit, several Chinese aircraft and warships were reportedly seen near the center line of the Taiwan Strait this morning in what was seen as an act of provocation.
According to a source who told Reuters, Chinese aircraft repeatedly made tactical maneuvers to 'touch' the center line and circle back across the strait on Tuesday morning, while Taiwanese aircraft were on standby near the area.
If it is true that Nancy Pelosi continues her visit to Taiwan, it could increase again the tension between China and the United States which at this point seems to be easing.
This in turn can create a risk in the market if their relationship worsens.
