The other country, Indonesia is seen to be making strides by submitting a tender to a communications company to promote local firms in the metaverse.
It is an initiative of the Indonesian government to compete with foreign services such as Google and Facebook in addition to setting up a desire to emerge as a major world power in the future.
It is understood that the communication company PT Telkom Indonesia will launch 'metaNesia' which is a virtual world project that aims to grow the largest economy in Southeast Asia.
Indonesia's Enterprise Minister, Erick Thobir, said it is expected to help the country adapt to the fast-moving online landscape among young people.
He added, they want to increase competitiveness with other countries in creating a new world with its own payment system.
So far the company has not released any further details about metaNesia.
However, through Thohir, the project will provide a platform for micro, small and medium enterprises to showcase their goods on an equal footing with other foreign businesses.
Generally, if metaNesia is like other metaverse platforms then it will offer social services including health consultation, shopping center, service center and entertainment and virtual concerts.
