Capital A, AirAsia maintained its status of excellence for the 13th time in a row when it was named the World's Best Low-Cost Airline 2022.
The achievement was announced at the World Airline Awards 2022 organized by Skytrax which saw AirAsia take first place out of 20 entries in the category.
On that occasion, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tan Sri Tony Fernandes expressed his joy by saying that the achievement gave hope to the company.
According to him, the company experienced a difficult moment during the last 2 years with Covid-19 slowing down the main business activities due to travel restrictions.
However, the latest achievement indirectly gives hope to the company to bounce back despite the challenges of economic growth next year.
Meanwhile, Skytrac CEO Edward Plaisted was also seen praising AirAsia's achievements.
The clarity of the Malaysian-owned company proves the resilience of low-cost air travel even in the face of post-pandemic challenges.
In addition, Plaisted also congratulated AirAsia for successfully continuing the performance for 13 consecutive times.
As of this afternoon, Capital A shares traded flat at 64 sen with a market capitalization of RM2.66 billion.
